I saw the cutest little Bunny “Bottom” Bags on Pinterest a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to do my “take” on the craft. You can find the original post here – http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.stfi.re/easter-bunny-gift-bags-with-free-printable-tags?sf=eopdrje#_a5y_p=5185066
Below are the steps I took to complete my version of the Bunny Treat Bags!
- Paper Lunch Bag
- Paint Brushes
- Construction Paper
- Fur Boa for Ears (I got mine from the Dollar Store)
- Glue Gun and Sticks
- Treats to fill bag or filling of some kind (I used scrunched up newspaper as I will just use this one as a display
The first thing I did is to draw the face I wanted onto the paper lunch bag. Your face can be as elaborate or as easy as you want it to be, it’s your bunny!
Next I painted the face. And then waited and waited for it to dry!
While I was waiting for that paint to dry; I had to paint a piece of construction paper orange to use as my carrot. My package of paper did not include any orange!
Once the paint was finally dry I outlined everything with a Sharpie to make the image stand out more.
The next step is to fold the bag in half and to cut a “V” shape from the top to form the “ears.”
Now comes the fun part…turning on your glue gun and finishing the Bunny!
The first thing I did was to glue pre measured pieces of the boa onto the ears. I also added a few dabs of glue to the inside points of the ears so the layers of paper aren’t as visible.
This is the time to add the treats or whatever you are using as filler for the Bunny. Once it is as full as you are making it, take the ribbon and tie the bag closed loosely with the ribbon. I then cut out my “carrot,” outlined it with a Sharpie, added some “leaves” and glued it to the front of the bow and there we have a Bunny Treat Bag!
