Easy Salted Peanut Chews

I saw this awesome recipe on the Betty Crocker website that I just had to try.  It is for Easy Salted Peanut Chews and I found it here: Easy Salted Peanut Chews from Betty Crocker

I won’t type out the whole recipe at the end because it is available at that link and it isn’t my recipe but I still wanted to share it with everyone and show the process.

Here are the ingredients to make them.

You start by mixing up the peanut butter cookie mix with water, oil and an egg.

The peanut butter cookie dough is then pressed into the prepared 9 x 13 pan and baked for 12 to 15 minutes.

While it’s baking I started to prepare the peanut butter/ rice Krispie part. You put the peanut butter chips, corn syrup, vanilla and butter in a microwave safe bowl.

And melt it on high heat for about 1 1/2 minutes.  (Note: their recipe is done on the stove top)

You mix together the rice krispies and peanuts in another bowl and then mix it with the melted peanut butter mixture.

When the peanut butter cookie base is cooked you put the marshmallows on top of it. I didn’t have mini marshmallows so I just cut the ones I had in half and spread them on the peanut butter cookie base.

This goes back in the oven for about 2 minutes until the marshmallows are melted and puffing.

When they are melted, remove from oven and spoon the rice Krispie/peanut butter mixture over top of the melted marshmallows.

Let it chill for at least an hour and then cut into squares, and there you have it, yummy Salted Peanut Chews!

Again, the recipe can be found on the Betty Crocker website at: Easy Salted Peanut Chews
