Crochet Baby Flower Headband

Yes, a baby item lol!  Now that Christmas is behind us/me, we can start to concentrate on the soon to be grandbaby and working on the craft room!

Today I made a quick little headband with a flower on it.  It was easy to make and very quick, I don’t think it even took a half hour to complete!

A Must Try in the New Year

Here is a Cinnamon Roll recipe thanks to:

These are something I have been meaning to try for a long time.  I used to make them all the time in my bread machine but when I got the KitchenAid, I chucked the bread machine and haven’t made any since!!!  I am definitely going to try this recipe in the New Year.

We are off tomorrow to our 2nd Annual Family Bowling/Dinner Event.  Last year was so much fun that we want to keep the tradition up as our family grows! Last year Dillon beat me during the final game so I am looking for revenge this year lol!  Wish me luck!

These are from a copycat cinnabon recipe that’s been floating around the web since forever.

Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Doesn’t this look delicious? Thought I would share.

eat with enzo

Carbonara is a classic pasta dish from Rome, and probably the most misunderstood dish in Italian cuisine.

The carbonara sauce is really typical of roman cuisine because it’s incredibly simple and uses only 4 main ingredients: eggs, pork, cheese and black pepper – NEVER cream! The American and British versions made with double cream are pretty awful and have completely misunderstood the point. Carbonara is not a general term for a creamy pasta sauce, it’s a specific dish. So despite popular belief and current advertising from Philadelphia cheese, there is no such thing as a ‘carbonara-style’ sauce. You cannot add cream, soft cheese, garlic, onions, peas or mushrooms and still call it a carbonara. Adding cream is completely pointless – it just washes out all the flavour and makes it really unhealthy. A proper carbonara should feel creamy and indulgent, but this comes from the egg rather than cream, and is balanced by the salty…

My Singer Knitting Machine!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I took Boxing day off as an “On Strike” day, the same as I always do. I did nothing but sleep, read and feed Chris and Dillon leftovers lol.

Today however, I was playing with the Singer Knitting Machine that Chris got me  (because of a rather large hint) for Christmas.  I am having so much fun!

This is what it looks like out of the package, it even came with a couple of skeins of yarn to get started!

The first thing I made was a cute little baby hat! It took me about 15 minutes! 15 minutes!!!

And then I made a pair of socks.  If you have ever knit socks before you know how time consuming it can be.  I made this pair in a half hour! Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas next year lol?

I anticipate having a whole lot of fun with my new “toy!”

P.S. I also got a combination grinder/pasta maker/sausage stuffer, so stay tuned for recipes and ideas when I start “playing” with it!!!

Bird Nest Ornament (Old German Tradition)

I wanted to make a special ornament for my mother-in-law because she has been under a lot of stress lately… just a little pick me up.  I scoured Pinterest for some old German traditions, something she might remember from her childhood, and came across the tradition of placing a bird’s nest in the Christmas tree and ran with that!
