Yes, a baby item lol! Now that Christmas is behind us/me, we can start to concentrate on the soon to be grandbaby and working on the craft room!
Today I made a quick little headband with a flower on it. It was easy to make and very quick, I don’t think it even took a half hour to complete!
I used plain worsted wool in a variegated and plain colour.
For the Headband:
Chain 38. (This is newborn sized. To make it larger, increase in increments of 4 chains)
Double Crochet 3 stitches in the 3rd chain from your hook.
*Skip a ch. Sl Stitch into the next ch. Skip a ch. DC 4 stitches into the next ch.*
Repeat from * to * until you get to the end. Make sure you end with a shell in your last chain.
Turn your work.
DC 4 stitches into the same ch as your last shell.
**Skip a ch. Sl stitch into the next ch.
Skip a chain. Double Crochet 4 stitches into the next chain.**
Repeat from ** to ** until you get to the end.
Join your last shell to the first shell, leaving a tail. Using the extra string/tail, sew your headband into a loop shape.
For the Flower:
Ch 3. Sl Stitch into the first chain to make a circle.
SC 5 stitches into the circle. Sl Stitch into the first SC.
*Ch 4, Triple Crochet 2 stitches, Ch 4, Sl Stitch* into the same stitch.
Repeat from * to * for the remaining 4 petals.
Cut your yarn and tie off, leaving a tail to sew flower to headband.
