Maple Bourbon BBQ Sauce

I made a version of this a while back using different ingredients. While that one was pretty good, this one is even better. It takes a little while but is definitely worth the time. We had it on pork tenderloin the other night and everyone pretty much devoured it!

Here are the ingredients I used to make the BBQ sauce.

To start, I put the chopped red onion, minced garlic, salt & pepper in a medium sized saucepan and sauteed them with olive oil until the onions were clear, about 10 minutes.

I added the remaining ingredients and whisked them together.

I put the saucepan back on the stove, at medium heat and brought it to a boil. I lowered the heat and let it simmer for about 25 minutes.

I put the sauce through the food processor, on puree, and then poured the sauce into a Mason jar to keep in the fridge until I was ready to use it!

And it is delicious. You could use it on pork, steak, chicken, ribs, whatever you want!
