Sparkly Dragonfly Pillow – Cricut Project

When I was making the Skull Cycling T-Shirt for Dillon for his birthday last week, I figured while I was already “playing” Cricut I would make this pillow for myself. I don’t know about the rest of you crafters out there… but I don’t seem to make many crafts for myself… I am generally making them for someone else. Not this time!

There is a little story behind this project. I am part of a couple of Facebook groups dedicated to the Cricut… projects, learning, advice, etc. Someone posted a picture of a dragonfly mandala and couldn’t decide what they were going to put it on. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make it for myself… still wasn’t sure either what I was going to put it on… just that I was making it lol! I asked the member where she found the pattern and to my surprise it was in Design Space and was part of the Access program! I found it, customized it to the size I wanted once I decided it was going on one of the throw cushions on the couch…. and it a really sparkly heat transfer vinyl that I bought to put some hearts on another onesie I made for my granddaughter (I will attach a picture at the bottom lol) and then cut it out!

I have to admit that being sick and trying to weed glitter vinyl is not a good combination….. not even a little. Luckily one thing I do have is a lot of time… so I took that time and weeded it bit by bit until it was done before ironing it onto my pillow.

It is kind of hard to get a good picture of the glitter vinyl AND get the full effect of the glitter itself, but I did the best I could with the limited patience I have right now so I would at least have a post. Believe it or not, I have I think 4 or 5 recipe posts that just need typing/dictating but I just can’t seem to find the oomph to get them done. A post like this is much easier… not as many stops to insert pictures. Yes… very lazy!

Here is my pillow…..

And here is the onesie I made for my granddaugher!

Skull T-shirt- Cricut Project

Today is Dillon’s 27th birthday. Happy Birthday Dillon!

I wanted to make him a “cool” Cycling shirt because its something he’s into. I looked around until I found a pattern I liked and found it on Etsy.

I added the wording to it, just because I liked the sarcasm it added lol, then cut it out of Heat Transfer Vinyl.

I weeded, and weeded, and weeded, until the design was ready to be applied to the T-shirt….not something that went over well in my current state, but if you are a mom you know the lengths you go to for your kids… sick or not 🤧🤒😷

Once that was done I ironed it onto the shirt and I really liked how cool it looked. I did it on an almost neon green shirt… thinking about visibility if he wears it when Cycling!

Here are a few pictures of the shirt!

Cricut Project- Wooden Signs

Yes… believe it or not… another post! Mind you I’m typing it wrapped up in a blanket with Lucy serving as my heating blanket…but it’s still a long overdue post! That must count for something?

As I mentioned above, this project is long overdue. I had seen a lot of signs similar to these on pinterest and thought they would look really cool above the sliding doors in the kitchen.

I “designed” the patterns ages ago, maybe even before Christmas to fit on some fence board pieces I asked Chris to cut down for me. Fence boards are an inexpensive way to make signs.

I painted the boards in colours today match our decor and then just had to actually take the time (while being so sick) to cut the vinyl. I thought it might distract me from the fact I can barely breathe 🙄.

Once fully dried (I let them dry for a couple of days… mostly because even painting them is exerting myself right now 🤨.

Then I applied the vinyl! That was the fun part! Well, the fun part once I got it lined up!

I added sawtooth hangers to the back, used my level and some painter’s tape (to mark the center of the sawtooth hanger) to mark where the nails needed to be and then hung the signs above the sliding doors as planned!

I am pretty happy with how they turned out and how they look in that spot. I just can’t decide if I want to sand/age the edges like I did with the bathroom sign I made !

Happy Valentine’s Day- Cricut Card

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone! I thought I would pop on quickly to extend that greeting and share the card I made (by pushing a few buttons on my laptop and cricut 🏆) for Chris for Valentine’s Day!

Still recovering but will also still try to pop on when I can manage!

I miss the comment conversations I have with everyone ❤

HELLO – And a “REPOST” Of “Cream of Broccoli & Asiago Soup”

I can’t believe how long it’s been since my last post. And again I apologize. I don’t even have anything prepared to post but I wanted to at least say HI!

Somehow I am sick again 🤒🤧🙄. With all the medication I take for my brain injury, finding something to take for anything else seems impossible… so I trudge through. The word pneumonia is now on the table, so with that in mind… I thought I would repost a “feel good” homemade soup recipe!

I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I will be back to posting regularly soon!

Sandie ❤❤❤

Although we had to postpone our visit again due to weather to the coming weekend, I still made another pot of soup for when Kim and family were coming up last weekend.  I did freeze it, well most of it because Chris wanted a bowl lol, so that I would still have it to simply reheat for this weekend’s visit because once I told Kim what kind of soup I had made, her response was a resounding Yummmmmmm lol! Below is the recipe for this soup… if you love broccoli cheese soup, this is definitely a recipe you will want to try!
