Jerk Chicken Wings (Baked)

I was making Pizza and Wings for dinner the other night and I can’t for the life of me remember if I have posted them before so I decided I would post it anyway…. just in case! I am pretty sure I have posted a regular jerk chicken recipe, just not wings.

Chris says these are the best wings around… and he is a chicken wing connoisseur lol. I make my own jerk seasoning/marinade, let the wings marinate in it for at least 6 hours and then bake the wings… yes… bake. And they are absolutely delicious! I used the Pizza Hut Copycat recipe for the pizza that I always use now and we had better than take out Pizza and Wings for dinner!

Montreal Steak Spice

Again I have no post for today. My mind is on other things/people.. but I didn’t want to have nothing posted.

I posted this recipe in early July and so far this year I’ve had to make 3 batches!!! That is how good it is lol! That is why I thought I could get away with sharing it again !

Let me start by saying that Chris LOVES bbq… and even more so… bbqed steaks. He likes them cooked most ways, with or without bbq sauce, with steak sauce, but especially with this spice mixture. When we rub/bbq them with this he doesn’t use any bbq or steak sauce on them… that’s how good they taste!

This takes all of about 5 minutes to make, and if you don’t shake the jar the layers look great in the jar for gifting!

Here are the ingredients. (Except for the salt and pepper 😳)

Measure all the spices into your jar (see what I mean about the layers?)

Shake the jar and it’s ready to use!

Rub it on your (room temperature) steaks about a half hour before you start to bbq….

Bbq to desired doneness and enjoy the wonderful flavour!

  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Coarse salt
  • 2 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. coriander
  • 1 tbsp. dill
  • 1 tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes

  1. Measure all ingredients into jar.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Rub onto room temperature steaks half hour before cooking.
  4. Cook to desired doneness.

Hamburger Seasoning Mix

Here is another great “Seasoning” mix. This time it is for making burgers.

There is nothing like a great tasting burger right off the grill for dinner. Knowing it is homemade makes it tastes so much better!

This seasoning takes only a few minutes to whip up and you can use it as a seasoning on the burgers while they are being grilled, or in the actual burger when you are mixing/pressing them up. I like to put the seasoning right in the burgers but that is entirely up to you!

I didn’t take an actual picture of the burgers once they were done because really, they mostly all look alike when done lol! The picture below is just a picture I already had of burgers cooking on our grill.

Chicken Marinade for the BBQ

As I am sure you’ve gathered… in this house, they LOVE BBQ season… lol! Whether it be steaks, burgers or whatever, according to Chris everything tastes better cooked on the grill. Chicken is no different and using marinades can up your taste game like nothing else.

Here is a recipe for a quick to whip up marinade that tastes awesome… even when used in to cook the chicken in the oven… but is always better on the grill!

Grilled Potato Skewers

Do you find it as difficult as I do to think of different ways to grill potatoes? As much as I/we love baked potatoes and roast potatoes done of the grill, sometimes we just like something a bit different.

This recipe is one of the ways we like to change it up. Easy to prepare and assemble and delicious when grilled! You can change the spices in it to suit whatever else you are making. I used a Cajun seasoning and garlic powder.

Creamy Grape Tomato and Cucumber Salad

When I was preparing dinner last night I realized that I hadn’t figured out a salad to go with it.  I knew I had a container of field grape tomatoes and a cucumber that needed to be used before I could buy anymore.  This salad is the end result of using the two of them up!

This salad uses a minimum of ingredients, is quick and easy to make and goes great with whatever you are grilling for dinner as a refreshing side!

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Burgers

I don’t know about anyone else, but with the nicer weather starting, everyone here has had a mad hankering for burgers. While the grill isn’t cleaned and ready to go yet I still made some burgers the other night and just cooked them up in the frying pan.

They were so delicious…. the first burger of the season… even thought it wasn’t cooked on the grill lol!

I know that burgers don’t generally take very good pictures…. I still took one for this post.

Stuffed Taco Burgers

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Since I am on Grandma babysitting duty this week, I thought I would share some of our favourite summer posts…. whether it be recipes or crafts, I thought a recap might be nice for this week!

This recipe is for a delicious stuffed burger!  Enjoy!

I do know it’s not burger season… not really… at least I don’t want to be standing outside, freezing my butt off bbqing something for dinner! But last week I saw a post on for cheeseburgers and it reminded me of the stuffed burger maker that Dillon bought me for Christmas and decided I would just cook some up inside and make them with fresh cut fries using the air fryer that Dillon also bought me…. hmmm… are we noticing a theme yet lol?

Pork Skewers in a Molasses Marinade

I have to say it’s hilarious watching Chris when this is what we are having for dinner. I swear once his own are eaten he keep s checking Dillon’s plate to see if maybe he didn’t eat all of his. And some times I swear he keeps looking to see if I am watching as if he is going to actually lick the plate lol. It’s okay, one of my greatest pleasures in life is to feed people and even more than that… to see how much they enjoy it! Knowing how much my cooking is enjoyed/appreciated helps keep me motivated to continue and to try different things!

Corn on the Cob – On the Grill

First I need to apologize… the corn went so fast I didn’t even manage to get a picture of it being consumed…. or better yet… devoured! The butter brushed on with the garlic powder made this corn so delicious that no one took a break long enough to take a picture lol.

Feel free to add your own spices to the melted butter other than the garlic powder I used!
