Stained Glass Candle Holder…. well, sort of

In between batches of cookies and making dinner yesterday I decided to try to turn an old, plain glass candleholder I had into a stained glass one.

While it did end up looking nice when it was done, it didn’t turn out even close to what I wanted it to!  I guess the dollar store glass paint I bought doesn’t quite cut it for painting something that doesn’t lay flat while drying! Lesson learned.  At least it’s still pretty when lit lol!

Faux Stained Glass #5 – The Dragon

Here is my 5th and I think final installment of the faux stained glass pictures I have been making for Christmas gifts.  I have been undecided about doing a 6th one but so far I am stopping at 5.

This time I made a Dragon one because my son-in-law likes dragons…. as you will see by some of the other up and coming posts lol!

It’s hard to see but the background is blue.

Faux Stained Glass #4 – The Skull

Yes, I made another one of these lol.  I have been happy with the faux stained glass pictures I made in Part #1, Part #2 and Part #3 so much I decided to keep going and make a few more.  This one obviously a skull picture and the last one, which is in progress will be a dragon!

It is back to the scroll saw today… hopefully I can get a few more projects cut out and ready for painting!

WIP… Christmas

Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! I swear if one more person reminds me how quickly Christmas is coming I might lose it lol!

While I have been very aware of how fast its approaching, it’s still been enough to get me moving…. hence the WIP!

So today I set my scroll saw up on a table in the backyard so I don’t spread the sawdust everywhere!

Today I started 4 different Christmas presents!

Two more faux stained glass pictures and three I am cutting out on my scroll saw. That will be it for the faux stained glass but I still have a few more projects I want to make with my scroll saw, two of them requiring a bit of time!

Here is the hired help, sleeping on the job… again!

Thankfully it is still ONLY October and I have plenty of time…. I hope lol.

Here are a few pictures of what I’ve started! Hopefully I can wrap up at least one or two to post tomorrow!

Faux Stained Glass Part # 2 – The Dragonfly

Today I began working on the dragonfly faux stained glass I wanted to make for myself.  I am really enjoying making these stained glass pictures as I first showed you in my  Faux Stained Glass Lotus Flower post a few weeks back.

I am enjoying it so much that I started a second one today as well for a gift that I will try to post tomorrow. I have a few others in mind as well, so stay tuned.

Another Faux Stained Glass Project

This is another, easy to make Stained Glass Project.  I did a project last week with a different faux stained glass method here Faux Stained Glass.

This time I tried a different method.  I do still want to revisit the other method and make myself a little dragonfly stained glass picture, but for today I am making this one.
