Braided Egg Bread

With the cooler weather making it’s annual come back, having the smell of freshly baking bread seems to fit right in. This time I made another family favourite… a Braided Egg Bread.

This is an easy to make bread, it just takes a little longer to prepare the bread dough because the eggs need to be added slowly. But it is well worth that little bit of extra time!

It smells great baking and tastes even better… especially straight from the oven!

Herb & Garlic Olive Oil Bread

Yes…. another bread recipe lol! I don’t know about you but we love bread…..especially homemade bread. There is just something about sitting down to a meal and having fresh from the oven bread….and the smell… that is an experience all on it’s own!

This is an easy bread to make and I am thinking it could also make for some delicious tasting hamburger buns! I haven’t tried that yet with this bread recipe but I do think it’s high time!!!

I think I cut it way too soon after removing from the oven because I squished it lol!

Honey Brown Bread

Yesterday was grass cutting day… meaning 2 1/2 hours on the lawn tractor. My head is never happy with that but being spring, the grass grows like crazy. I put dinner in the crock pot so I wouldn’t have to worry after doing the grass what would be for dinner and I started this bread to have with it!

It looks kind of flat in the picture because I forgot that I usually do this bread in 2 loaves and it spread big time on the pan during the second rising!

Whole Wheat Bread

Today I finally decided to try my hand at making some Whole wheat bread for us.  I have been meaning to try it for ages but always, always forget to pick up some whole wheat flour.  I remembered Friday, at long last and this is how it went!

Doesn’t it look delicious? It slices wonderfully and would be great for sandwiches for school lunches!  What’s better than homemade bread and knowing what is actually in the bread we are eating?

Cheddar Dill Country Bread

When I decided yesterday I needed to make some more bread (in our home, dinner has a few requirements… meat, veggies, some kind of side dish and bread… and salad if I remembered to pick everything up for it!).  I was going to make that awesome Pretzel Bread again, just because it was so good, but instead I altered another recipe I had.

I am not sure why but this has been a fresh dill week.  I used it in food for our Mother’s Day lunch, I made myself a Cherry Tomato, Dill and Cheese quiche yesterday and I chose to put it and cheese in the bread I made.  Needless to say, cheese and dill in fresh bread not only smelled wonderful, it tasted great!

Easy French Bread

 

I made a new recipe for dinner tonight (which I will share in another post), so I thought I would make a couple of loaves of French Bread to go with it.

This is a very simple recipe and tastes delicious.  It isn’t even close to dinner yet and Chris ate 5 pieces already!  Mind you they aren’t really big pieces but when he got home from work and smelled fresh bread, pretty much straight out of the oven, he couldn’t help himself!
