Cinnamon Sugar Knots

One day last week I wanted to make a treat for “the boys,” something I haven’t made in a while.  I was going to make some kind of baked donuts but the thought of the house smelling of cinnamon baking into something in the oven was too much temptation.  To me there is nothing like the smell of cinnamon!  I made these Cinnamon Sugar Knots for them and they loved them!  Chris even hid his at work because the guys he works with like to raid his lunch box to see what treats he has lol!

Cranberry Bran Buds Muffins

A few weeks ago I received a coupon in the mail for a free box of All Bran Buds cereal. While I love anything bran, I didn’t feel like just eating it as cereal, so I made muffins. They were going to be raisin bran muffins but I either forgot I was out of raisins or Dillon ate them lol. Thankfully I knew I had a partial bag of frozen cranberries, so I added them instead.

These muffins are nice and moist, not dry like some bran muffins can be. And they freeze really well. I like to keep a few things in the freezer ready to pop in lunch boxes on the off chance I don’t feel like baking one week!

Molasses Spice Cookies

These are similar to gingerbread a bit… and the smell of them baking in the oven makes the whole house smell like a bakery. I swear I had Dillon drooling in front of the oven door, waiting for them to be done so he could snag a few lol!

They are perfectly spiced and rolled in sugar before baking.  When they first come out of the oven they are soft and chewy and oh so delicious and when cooled crisp up a bit… with the same great flavour!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Squares

Yes…. PB again lol! I made these a few weeks back for lunch box snacks and let me tell you… they never last very long.  Sometimes I even have to hide them to make sure there are enough for lunches lol!

This recipe is easy to make and delicious to eat!

Lemon Blueberry Bread

It seems when I make something lemon I always tend to use cranberries with it.  Lemon Cranberry Muffins are a huge favourite of everyone in this house.  I am not a fan of blueberries but “the boys” are, so I thought I would change it up a bit this time and make a Lemon Blueberry bread to add to their lunch boxes this past week!

Mars Rice Krispy Squares

I found an awesome sounding  Rice Krispy square recipe at https://oureatinghabits.wordpress.com/2011/08/19/mars-bars-squares/ that I just had to try. Thank you to Our Eating Habits for this recipe idea!

While I didn’t follow it exactly it still turned out great with comments from anyone that tried them.

I changed the recipe to suit what I had and how I wanted to do the cooking part of the recipe so I could make them in the microwave and they still turned out perfect!

Lemon Bars

I can’t remember the last time I made lemon squares, but they just seemed like such a good idea to make on Sunday when I had the itch to bake!  I made Lemon Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Banana Bread for lunch snacks.

The lemon bars are like having a bite or two of lemon meringue pie but these are bite size, okay, maybe two bites, making them perfect to put in lunch boxes as a snack or just a quick delicious lemon snack break with coffee!

These would also make  brightly coloured and delicious addition to any Christmas dessert tray!
