WIP for Christmas

Seeing as I don’t have anything actually finished today, I thought I could at least show you what I’m up to!

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but if not, I hate base painting.  I just want to jump into the fun part lol. But base painting does have to be done, so I generally try to do it all at once!

That’s what I’m doing today.  Or at least starting! I think this is about half of it!

I will try to get at least one thing done today to post tomorrow because tomorrow is Thursday, my new weekly appointment with the new specialist! 24 weeks worth 😔

This is what I’ve started!

WIP… Christmas

Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! I swear if one more person reminds me how quickly Christmas is coming I might lose it lol!

While I have been very aware of how fast its approaching, it’s still been enough to get me moving…. hence the WIP!

So today I set my scroll saw up on a table in the backyard so I don’t spread the sawdust everywhere!

Today I started 4 different Christmas presents!

Two more faux stained glass pictures and three I am cutting out on my scroll saw. That will be it for the faux stained glass but I still have a few more projects I want to make with my scroll saw, two of them requiring a bit of time!

Here is the hired help, sleeping on the job… again!

Thankfully it is still ONLY October and I have plenty of time…. I hope lol.

Here are a few pictures of what I’ve started! Hopefully I can wrap up at least one or two to post tomorrow!

WIP: Yes, Another One

I thought that since I don’t have anything actually finished right now I would post the progress I am making on another scarf as a gift.

It is a really funky yarn and while it isn’t difficult to work with it is time consuming.  It is a Red Heart Yarn called Fizzle.

You need to sort of separate the two strands of wool and only use the top “loop” to knit with.  Like I said, not difficult, just time consuming.

Here is a picture of the wool.  I put an arrow where the top loop is to show you what I mean.

The scarf is knit on Size 10 knitting needles and worked over only 3 stitches.  The instructions on the wrapper stated it would end up being 60 inches long when completed.

I think I might have about 15 – 18 inches done so far so I am about a quarter of the way there.  I should have it done in a few days and then move on to the turquoise colour!

It sort of reminds me of a poodle lol.  I am pretty certain that when Kim sees that I am working on a PURPLE scarf she will try to stake a claim on it!

I will update with pictures once they are both completed!

WIP, well, One of Many – IT’S DONE

UPDATE

It’s Done! Another Christmas gift off the To Do list! I finished it last night!

I don’t actually have anything finished to post today so I thought I would share a scarf I am working on for a Christmas present.

I bought this really cool, very thick yarn from the Michael’s store when Kim and I went on our day excursion. It was fairly inexpensive but the colours and the texture were enough that I decided to buy it.  The colours are very vibrant and it is so thick that it will make someone a very warm scarf and a great gift!

This is the yarn!

And this is what I have done so far.  I picked up the wool and my crochet hook last night and managed to work through one ball!  Another good thing about working with such a thick yarn is that it works up quickly!  I should have this scarf done by the end of the week and I will update this post when I finish it!

I am just working a double crochet, chain one, skip a stitch, double crochet pattern over 15 stitches because I figured a fancy pattern wouldn’t really show up with the yarn being so thick.  I can dress it up at the end with some fringe!

I also bought this funky yarn, at the dollar store of all places, that I am also planning on crocheting into scarves for gifts.  Hopefully it isn’t a pain in the you know what to work with lol!!!
